New Orleans City Council’s District B candidate, Timothy David Ray, recently met with leaders of the Central South Carpenters Regional Council to share his platform for the coming election and learn about issues important to carpenters and their families.

The United States Department of Labor’s Secretary, Alexander Acosta, recently spent time at the Carpenters International Training Center in Las Vegas. While there, Secretary Acosta toured the facility and stopped in to talk with members engaged in Leadership Training. Journeymen from the Central South Carpenters were one of those groups at the ITC, and EST Jason Engels had the opportunity to meet with the Secretary.
“Mr. Acosta is an advocate for the middle class. His experience will serve the members of the UBC well,” said Douglas J. McCarron, General President of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, in a letter supporting Secretary Acosta’s nomination to the DOL position.
